According to the actress, being called by the nickname is such an honor and, at the same time, a hard responsibility that she takes on.

Kim Hae Sook talked about how she felt "very burdened at first" by being nicknamed "the nation's mother."

As mentioned by the veteran actress, she wanted to show different kinds of mothers through her acting and the roles she plays.

Moreover, the 67-year-old actress admitted that she thought that her career became stagnant since she was playing the same role over and over. However, playing mother roles made her realize something.

"As an actor, I thought I was stuck in the frame of being a mother because of my age. However, through some works, I was exposed to mother roles that cannot exist in reality, and I realized that there are great mothers in this world."
