Koreans have chosen their favorite advertising models for 2023, with IU and Gong Yoo topping the list.

In a report cited by a news portal, the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation released the result of their survey, which they conducted from November 27 to November 30, online. The participants included 2,000 men and women, aged 20 to 59.

In addition to this, topics like "exercise, diet, and health management" are the top  plans that consumers are looking for in 2024,, followed by "investment and savings."

Meanwhile, here are the top 5 favorite advertising models chosen by consumers.

IU lands at the top with 8.1 percent.

Before cementing her name in the music and acting industries, IU made her debut in 2008 with the single "Lost Child," which she performed for the first time on the music program M Countdown.

Three years later, she had her first K-drama appearance in KBS2's drama "Dream High" as her acting debut.

From then on, IU has shown her amazing skills in both music and the small and big screen, making her one of the most sought-after Korean celebrities.

Among her on-screen projects are "My Mister," "Hotel Del Luna," "The Producers," "Broker," and her recent movie with Park Seo Joon, "Dream."

On the other hand, coming in at second is figure skating queen Kim Yuna with 6.9 percent.

She won gold at the 2010 Olympics as a champion and silver at the 2014 Olympic ladies' singles, which made her the country's national champion, and she married Forestella's Ko Woo Rim in October 2022.

Meanwhile, landing third is Gong Yoo with 6.1 percent, leaving football superstar Son Heung Min in fourth place with 3.7 percent, while "nation's MC" Yoo Jae Suk receives 3.3 percent.

Gong Yoo is one of Korea's top stars, headlining hit K-dramas like "Coffee Prince" and "Goblin." Of course, among his breakthrough performances that gained him worldwide fame is the K-zombie film "Train to Busan."

What's Next for IU and Gong Yoo?

After starring in the sci-fi K-drama "The Silent Sea," Gong Yoo is back on the small screen as he reprises his role in "Squid Game" season 2.

It can be recalled that the actor had an iconic cameo in the Netflix series where he played the mysterious salesman who recruits players.

In addition to this, Gong Yoo is also offered to headline the novel-based K-drama "The Trunk."

Directed by "our Blues," "It's Okay That's Love," and "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" Kim Kyu Tae, Gong Yoo will be playing the role of Han Jeong Won, who goes into a fix marriage with Noh In Ji, played by Seo Hyun Jin.

As for IU, she will also have her K-drama comeback through the melodrama "You Have Done Well."

The singer-actress will be joined by Park Bo Gum, Moon So Ri, and Park Hae Joon.
