IU Makes Heartfelt Donation To Low-Income Groups

On January 1, it was announced that Hallyu star IU made the winter warmer as she welcomed the year 2024 with a heartwarming gesture.

EDAM Entertainment, the idol-actress' agency, shared that IU made a 200 million KRW (approximately 154,000 USD) donation under the name of IUAENA (IU and her fans).

It was made to lend a helping hand to the underprivileged with unbearable living situations to have a warmer winter. IU said, "We may not be able to be happy for 365 days a year but I hope 2024 will have far more happy days than sad days."

IU eased the needs of a total of four organizations including the Korea Senior Welfare Center, Korea Child Welfare Association, Korea Unwed Mothers Association and Korea Welfare Facilities Association for the Disabled.

IU has made significant donations over the past year to low-income groups, children with special needs, health workers during the height of the pandemic and more, proving that she's indeed a donation fairy with a beautiful heart.

On the other hand, IU has also received a lot of love by solidifying her career as a leading actress in K-dramas and films while simultaneously releasing music as a solo artist.

IU To Make K-drama Comeback This 2024

After five long years, IU is finally coming back to the home theaters with an exciting web series with Park Bo Gum.

The singer-actress headlines the forthcoming drama "You Have Done Well" this 2024, and it depicts the adventurous life of a rebellious youth born in the 1950s in Jeju Island.

IU transforms into Ae Soon, a "stubborn potato" that has an undefeatable charm like a vibrant flower. She dreams of becoming a poet amid life's adversities.

Besides the powerful K-drama duo, "You Have Done Well" also stars big stars like Oh Jung Se and Yeom Hye Ran. Kim Seon Ho is also making a special appearance, much to fans' delight.

"You Have Done Well" is helmed by Kim Won Seok whom IU worked with in 2018 through "My Mister." Their reunion raised great expectations for fans all around the globe.
