Police investigated on charges of assault, but it was affirmed that his wife did not want to pursue prosecution.

Since assault in South Korea is not criminally punishable without consent, the prosecutors cannot press charges when the victim does not wish to punish the suspect.

The police had labeled the incident a case of domestic violence, and it could be closed or sent to court for further consideration.

Lee, who entered the entertainment industry in 2003 as one of KBS' 20th open talent program representatives, has acted in multiple films and dramas such as The Outlaws (2015), The Villainess (2017), and The Murderer (2024).

His agency Y1 Entertainment issued an official statement. The agency stated, "Police were dispatched following a report from the spouse during an argument between the couple.

However, based on on-site testimony and verification, the matter was determined to be non-serious.

There was no assault, and the spouse has clearly stated that he has no intention of pressuring the defendant, so the case is currently being closed."

The statement went on, "We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused the public, and both Lee Ji-hoon and his spouse are reflecting on their actions."
