Actor Lee Jung Jae flaunted his signature wit in talking about his rapport with actress Lim Ji Yeon at the press conference of tvN's new Monday-Tuesday series "Nice to Not Meet You."

As per KBZoom, the event, which was conducted online on October 28, had director Kim Ga Ram and the cast, comprising Lee Jung Jae, Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Ji Hoon, and Seo Ji Hye, who met to give insights regarding the new series.

Lee Jung Jae made a joke during the event about his co-star's mischievous nature on set. "She bullies me so much, I started to wonder if that's why I got cast," he said, eliciting laughs from reporters and cast members.

He added, "We bicker a lot on set. Sometimes I wonder if Lim Ji Yeon was cast just to torment me. When I ask her why she's so harsh, she just says, 'It's fun!' That's when I realized maybe I was chosen for her entertainment."

According to Maeil Business Newspaper, Lim Ji Yeon reacted in disbelief and divulged that she herself had introduced the project to Lee Jung Jae. "The script was hilarious, and Lee Jung Jae immediately came to mind. So I shyly texted him, hoping we could work together. But I swear I didn't 'target' him!" she laughed.

The two actors have an interesting professional relationship — Lee Jung Jae is the co-CEO of Artist Company, the agency Lim Ji Yeon belongs to. In spite of the 18-year age difference, the pair showed effortless camaraderie during the event.

Lim Ji Yeon talked about her character and her relationship with Lee Jung Jae, mentioning, "It's oddly satisfying. Whatever I throw at him, he handles it. Our chemistry feels real because of that."

Lee Jung Jae jokingly responded, "She throws those lines at me like missiles. I could fire back, but I hold back because I don't want to ruin the mood on set."

When the age difference between the two was brought up, Lee Jung Jae brushed it off with a laugh, declaring, "It's not about overcoming the age gap. She still bullies me despite it! She was okay at first, but it's getting wors."

Lim Ji Yeon brightened the mood, adding, "He's more comfortable to work with than actors my age," to which Lee Jung Jae replied with a joke, "Of course it's comfortable when you're doing whatever you want!"

"Nice to Not Meet You" begins on November 3 at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN, one of the most highly-anticipated K-dramas of the season for its mix of comedy and romance.
