‘The Call’ Star Jeon Jong Seo Shares Her Experience Working with Park Shin Hye
In a recent interview of Jeon Jong Seo with Sports Kyunghyang, she shared about her new movie "The Call" and co-starring with actress Park Shin Hye
Jeon Jong Seo started by saying that acting with montsrous instincts is a complex and delicate thing. She also revealed that she is a very straightforward person who is in touch with her emotions and highlights it as like the animal part that she has in her.
In her latest mystery thriller movie "The Call," which is about two people who lived in different times, Kim Seo Yeon (played by Park Shin Hye) who lives in the present and Oh Young Sook (Jeon Jong Seo) who live in the past, are connected through a phone call and their lives started to change.
Jeon Jong Seo was asked if someone from the future will actually call her what she would ask, the actress replied, "I want to ask that person who will be my husband. I am curious who I will be marrying. If I could have the chance to ask again, I want to ask if there's a change we couldn't have imagined."
Regarding her project with Park Shin Hye, Jeon Jong Seo shared that most of the time, her character does most of the attacking while Park Shin Hye as the character of Seo Yeon had to shield and defend. "Park Shin Hye showed more energy than I did, and with that I harmoniously increased my acting energy."
The 26-year-old actress humbly shared that she is still lacking in experience (acting) that is why she could not express some emotions closer to Park Shin Hye's stability. She also continued by praising Park Shin Hye's performance, "If it's not about her stability in acting, the story will not unfold perfectly. She (Park Shin Hye) preserved the balance from start to end of the movie. I wish I could also have that kind of ability to enhance my acting."
Jeon Jong Seo also expressed that she is a fan of director Lee Choong Hyun from his short film "Bargain" who also directed the movie "The Call," she revealed that she decided to take the role of Oh Young Sook because of Lee Choong Hyun.
The actress explained that the movie "Bargain" has a unique style, and it became Lee Choong Hyun's trademark. She also shared the relationship that she had built with the director "When we first filmed for 'The Call,' the director didn't direct every take. I thought it was odd. Then I asked him why, after filming, he said that he was trying to see what style of actress I am and how he could use me as an actress to maximize my acting. Director Lee determined he could leave me to act freely and set me right when I strayed slightly. That's what he did until the end of filming, and our teamwork was really good. Since he's a director with insight about me, I also trusted him."
She is also very happy about the appreciation that "The Call" has been receiving. The actress also shared that she also wants to star in a romance genre after gaining experiences in acting.
Further, Jeon Jong Seo expressed that her dream of acting onscreen finally happened and is continuously happening, and she is getting more courage from her fans who are always there to support her.
