Still can't get over "Hotel del Luna"? Then you now have a reason to rejoice! On Wednesday, Jan. 27, it was announced that the tvN drama will be getting a theatre musical stage adaption!

"Hotel del Luna" is a 2019 tvN drama that starred IU and Yeo Jin Goo, who played the hotel owner Jang Man Wol and manager Gu Chan Sung, respectively. The drama revolves around a hotel that only caters to ghosts and helps them reach the afterlives by assisting them in resolving their grudges. If they are able to hold their grudges, they can proceed to the afterlife and begin the cycle of reincarnation.

"Hotel del Luna's" Star-Studded Cast, Achievements, and More

"Hotel del Luna" was the most viewed tvN drama in 2019. Additionally, it is also the 12th highest-rated South Korean drama in cable television history. Besides IU and Yeo Jin Goo, the star-studded cast of the drama include Jung Dong Hwan, Shin Jung Geun, Bae Hae Sun, Pyo Ji Hoon (Block B's P.O), Kang Mina (former Gugudan and I.O.I member), Lee Do Hyun, Lee Tae Sun, Park Yoo Na, Jo Hyun Chul, Lee David, Seo Yi Sook, and Kang Hong Seok.

The drama was so well-loved both domestically and internationally, it scored numerous awards. Jung Dong Hwan won an award at the "12th Korea Drama Awards" (2019), scoring the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his role of No Joon Suk. At the "8th Korea First Brand Awards" (2019), IU won the "Best Actress" award for her role as Jang Man Wol.

"Hotel del Luna" Stage Adaptation

While the drama itself was not a musical, people are still highly anticipating the stage adaption. The music is expected to provide a fun and fresh new way of presenting the story to the audience, with an extra layer of creativity added to the story.

As of press time, there is no news on the cast nor if there will be any major changes in the plot of "Hotel del Luna."

There are also no reports on the music that will be featured in the stage adaption. "Hotel del Luna" had an extensive list of OST soundtracks with a star-studded artist line-up. The most popular song from the drama's soundtrack is "All About You" by Girls' Generation's Taeyeon. "All About You" peaked at number one on the Goan Charts. "All About You" won the "Best Original Soundtrack" award at the "12th Korea Drama Awards" and the "OST Award" at the "29th Seoul Music Awards" (2020).

Other songs that peaked at number one in the charts from the soundtrack include "Remember Me" by Gummy, "So Long" by Paul Kim, and "Done for Me" by Punch. Gummy's song won the "Best OST" award at the "21st Mnet Asian Music Awards" (2019), "Best OST" at the "11th Melon Music Awards" (2019), and the "34th Golden Disc Awards" (2020).

Another song from the drama's soundtrack, "Can You See My Heart" by Heize, peaked at number two, while "Can You Hear My Voice" by Ben peaked at number three on the Gaon charts. 10cm's "Lean on My Shoulders" peaked at number 13, and Chungha's "At the End" peaked at number 18. "Another Day" by Monday Kiz and Punch peaked at number 20, "Say Goodbye" by Song Ha Ye peaked at number 22, "Love del Luna" by NCT's Taeyeon and Punch peaked at number 46.

The only group to make a song for "Hotel del Luna," Red Velvet, had their song "See the Star" peaked at number 50. While it is still not known if any of these songs will be used for the stage adaption, they are definitely integral parts of the drama.
