"Running Man" star Song Ji Hyo will grace the small screen with a brand new drama!
Creative Group ING, Song Ji Hyo's agency released a statement on February 2 confirming that Song Jihyo has received the offer to star in the TVING original 'Come to the Witch Restaurant'. The series is based on the story penned by Goo Sanghee which took home the Daesang (grand prize) at Kyobo Book Centre's third story contest.

"Come to the Witch Restaurant" short synopsis
"Come to the Witch Restaurant" centers its story on a witch restaurant that sells food cooked with magic. It grants wishes and gives customers the chance to live different lives even if they have to sell their own souls. Those who purchase the food from the restaurant that experiences a difficult time in their lives can be healed by the food that the witch restaurant sells.

Song Ji Hyo will star as the main lead named Jo Heera, the witch who fulfills people's wishes by cooking magical food. According to reports, Nam Ji Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop may be joining Song Ji Hyo in the drama. The drama is scheduled to air later this year and is set to broadcast an eight-episode series.
Song Ji Hyo's humble beginnings as an actress
South Korean actress and model Cheon Soo Yeon professionally known by her stage name Song Ji Hyo was born on August 15, 1981. Fun fact: The actress chose "Song Ji Hyo" as her stage name because she was inspired by her most admired actors Song Seung Heon and Song Hye Kyo the star of the hit drama "Autumn in My Heart".
The 39-year-old actress started her career in the entertainment industry as a cover model for Kiki Magazine then she pursued her acting career through the film Wishing Stairs (2003), the third installment in the Whispering Corridors film series.
Song Ji Hyo then graced the small screen through her television series namely, the romantic comedy Princess Hours (2006) and the historical Jumong (2006). Following this project, the actress became widely recognized for starring in the film A Frozen Flower (2008), New World (2013), the TV series Emergency Couple (2014), her new hit Netflix drama Was It Love? (2020).

Other than starring in films and dramas, Song Ji Hyo is also one of the regular cast members of the South Korean variety show Running Man since 2010 which skyrocketed her fame internationally.
Fast forward to 2019, the actress was cast in the mystery thriller film Intruder where she starred alongside Kim Mu Yeol. This was her first-ever film released after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 in South Korea. This movie gained plenty of positive feedbacks from moviegoers even though it was released during the pandemic crisis.
