Viewers Share Sentiments on Namgoong Min's 'One Dollar Lawyer'

Namgoong Min, who has been in the acting field for almost more than a decade is known for his top-notch dramas and immersive performances.

However, his comeback drama this year, "One Dollar Lawyer," where he co-stars Kim Ji Eun, faced several issues even before it even concluded.

In a recent report by Wikitree on November 5, a number of users from the Korean forum Dmitory posted writeups on the viewer's bulletin board complaining about the absence of the said series.

To recall, in the last week of October, it was previously announced by the broadcasting company, SBS, that "One Dollar Lawyer" will only release 12 episodes instead of 16.

According to the company, it is to increase the level of the series' quality of work.

But the aim of the company to make it a successful show, the drama gained criticism, which led to the viewers' dissatisfaction.

In particular, negative comments from the online forums contained:

"They said they wanted to enhance the drama's perfection, yet continue to put explicit people."

"Why do they need to reduce the number of episodes?"

"The drama's popularity soared after being changed from two episodes a week on Friday and Saturday."

'One Dollar Lawyer's' Consecutive Delays Affect the Drama's Performance

Last October 21, "One Dollar Lawyer - Intermission," which was a special episode was released. It summarized the contents from episodes 1 to 8 and unfortunately drew resentment. The episodes were rumored to make time to prepare for the second half of the series. Not just that, episode 9 was also delayed.

Following the intermission episode, on October 28, the series' broadcast was canceled due to a professional baseball postseason, which is why episode 9 was moved to October 29.

It has been said that episode 11 is scheduled to air on November 5, and the finale will be released on November 11.

In those consecutive days of the drama's delayed broadcast, surprisingly, the viewership ratings of "One Dollar Lawyer" soared high. In episode 8, the drama recorded an average rating of 15.6 percent in the metropolitan area, 15 percent nationwide, and peaked at 18.8 percent according to Nielsen Korea.

Unfortunately, episode 10, which was released after the absence, declined to a 13.7 percent viewership rating.
