South Korean singer and artist Lee Ji-hye responded to criticism online targeting her, refuting accusations of political slant and condemning the usage of abusive language.

On August 6, Lee had uploaded a message on her own social media page with a screenshot of a message sent to her.

"I'm neither leftist nor rightist. I have no political leanings. Please refrain from such abusive language," she posted.

The screenshot revealed a profanity-laden note from an anonymous reader who was offended by Lee's perceived political leaning.

"XXX, are you a leftist? I enjoyed reading your posts, but I'm canceling my subscription right now," the note stated.

The message also mentioned Lee Ji-hye's older sister, who lives in the United States.

"You're a leftist, so why do you live in the US? You should go to China," the writer said, also deriding her children's education.

"It doesn't make sense. Go to China and work there," they furthered, in seeming reference to the English kindergarten her family is associated with.

Lee Ji-hye, a wife who married a tax accountant in 2017 and has two daughters, is famous for running the popular YouTube channel The Unhateable Sister.

Her message incited sympathy and sympathy from fans on the internet, with many criticizing the aggressive tone and political hostility shown in the message.
