Actress Nana has been cleared of all legal responsibility after she and her mother injured a man who broke into her home last week, triggering a violent confrontation that left all parties hurt and sparked nationwide attention.

On Nov. 22, Guri Police confirmed that the intruder — identified only as "A" — will be forwarded to prosecutors on charges of aggravated robbery and assault. Coverage from Koreaboo detailed how the man entered Nana's residence while armed, leading to an intense struggle inside the home.
Before revealing the preliminary findings, law enforcement offered a neutral summary of the situation. According to police, "A" entered the actress's home with a weapon and was ultimately overpowered by the mother-daughter duo.
Further reporting from Chosun Biz stated that the man sustained a cut on his jaw during the altercation, believed to have been caused by his own weapon. Public reaction was swift, with many praising Nana and her mother for fighting off the intruder, while others wondered how the law would interpret the injuries sustained by "A."
Investigators examined the incident under Article 21 of South Korea's Criminal Act, which outlines the conditions for justifiable self-defense. Before announcing their conclusion, authorities provided a factual timeline of events.
Police stated that the intruder entered the home at around 6 a.m. on Nov. 15, encountering Nana's mother at the front door.
According to the official account:
"While trying to enter, he was caught by Nana's mother, and he tried to assault her by choking her."
Nana reportedly awoke to her mother's screams and rushed to help.
Together, the two women managed to subdue the assailant, restraining his arms while calling the police.
Investigators ultimately determined that Nana and her mother faced real and imminent danger. The amount of force used to subdue the intruder was deemed proportionate and necessary for self-defense, meaning the resulting injuries were not considered excessive under the law.
As a result, police confirmed that Nana acted fully within the bounds of self-defense, and she will not face any charges related to the incident.
